Jenna's House of Idiosyncrasies Version 10.0 [Focus.]

April 2008 Archives

This is what happens when you're registered as a (small 'i') independent

April 17, 2008 - 1:15pm

Office of Congressman Paul Broun
2104 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20515

Subject: Please remove me from your mailing list

Dear Sir or Madam,

Please remove me from your mailing list. I have received an excessive amount of mail from your office. While I appreciate knowing the Congressman's stance on the issues, the number of envelopes arriving at my home from your office this campaign season is absolutely ridiculous.

Please also know that while I admire the Congressman's record of military service, the alarmist and jingoistic tone of the letters I've received, as well as the Congressman's support of pro-life legislation and support of the current war in Iraq, ensures that he will never get my vote.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Yes, I did actually send this off, via USPS. We'll see what happens. If you got a dozen plus unsolicited letters like the ones Paul Broun's office sends me, you'd be pretty fed up too.

In Which She Briefly Updates You on Her State of Mind

April 10, 2008 - 7:38pm

I think there is some part of me that is sick in the head and/or just really, really tired, but this is one of the only things that has made me laugh today. You should know that I did not just laugh, I cackled. At a loud volume. And for unnecessarily long time.

If you build a man a fire, he will stay warm for a day. If you light a man on fire, he will stay warm for the rest of his life.

You notice how it's funny, but not that funny? Because I didn't for at least ten minutes.
