Me: “Did you see that?”
Sam: (looks) “What is that?”
Me: “It's a man in a bear suit riding a bicycle.”
Sam: “Is Conan O'Brien here?”

My new favorite thing: Nivea® Creme, which comes in 88¢ tins at the Wally World.
I ate a bowl of Hunny B's for lunch today and was dissapointed considerably by the taste. Upon further inspection I noticed that they have taken out the little honey pot crackers and left only the B's. Blah. My favorite cereal laid to waste by those bastards at Kellogg's.
Abie bought me this totally bitchin' watch, and I'm not sure if this comes across in the picture or not, but it is HUGE, and so pimpin. It goes well with the pimp hat, I think.
Monday Night movie is being officially reinstated. Get in touch with me for info.
Happy birthday to the Kirbys, collectively! Especially you. Yes, you are my favorite.
Note the small title homage to Miss Samantha Kirby.
Today, while studying over at College Square, I observed one of the indie hipster kids sitting outside Lunch Paper wearing one black and one white old-school high top Converse. I'm know I'm supposed to be moved to pass some sort of judgement in this case, either consisting of, “My! How unique, cool, and off-beat!” or “How lame. How contrived.” (the former getting me some “you're so cool” praise, the latter getting me chided for being sort of square and unforgiving, allowing the chider to bathe in his/her scenester superiority—in neither case would I really care).
But the only thing I could think about was—how does he decide which foot is white and which foot is black? Does it change daily? Weekly? Is he going to switch when this pairing wears out, or is the other combination ignored completely? Is the most important part that the left is white and the right is black, or simply that they mismatch?
Clearly, my brain was looking for something to do besides study 19th century European art history. Oy.
This past weekend Will and Sam came to see me at my home in Athens and also to transfer me back to Winder. I was a lovely afternoon including Starbucks, people suspended in the air, Audioslave, and a trip to Barnes & Noble, where I bought, among other things, the Playboy Bartender's Guide, which curiously does not contain the recipe for a Sex on the Beach but does have one for Sex in the Desert. Somehow that seems rauchier.
A short trip in Will's ghetto-fabulous car put us at the Winder Sonic, where it promptly and quite suddenly died.
Just running along and then — nothing.
Will called up his "deddy" who arrived in no time flat and diagnosed the problem as the alternator. I have no idea what this means, but he and Will decided this after much standing in front of the open hood, frowning and nodding, so that's got to be significant somehow.
Will and his father switched cars, and we followed the ghetto fabulous car in the truck to the dealership where they left it for the weekend. Then we drove "deddy" home; on the way there Will and his father seemed like the older and younger version of one person having a conversation with himself.
On Sunday Maggie and I went to see Damien Rice at the Cotton Club and holy freaking hell! It was one of the best shows I have ever seen. I also have developed major Volcano-envy because he brought a girl from the audience up to sing the female part of "Volcano" with him. I was soooo jealous.
And also very happy for her.
After that this week has been a blur of stress, lack of sleep, art, mind crunching, and trying to stay confident in my abilities. Because I am a genius. Or something like that.

"If I do say so, it's authentically punk to publish a small book on a shoestring budget, to organize parties to promote your work, and to try and create a community around shared interests: reading, writing, punk rock, and getting drunk."
Hey, those are my interests too!
[the emphasis is mine. heh.]
Digital cameras are fun. I'm out of practice (I stopped taking pictures long ago because I never got them developed) so my skills are still a little soft. But I ran a couple of these through Dawn's Amelie Effect Photoshop Action (guess which ones!) and it brightened them tremendously. I just want to emphasize the greatness of Photoshop yet again, despite evil corporate mongering.
And now, Jenna's Vacation in Pictures.

This is my adopted brother Kyle Kirby. Yes, his shirt does say, "Hello, my name is Stud."

This is my sister, Sarah, looking pretty. She doesn't even have to try, people! Don't you wish you were this guy?

This is my adopted sister/honorary cousin/girlfriend Sam actually posing, yes, posing for that shot. If you think that is genuine surprise, you don't know Sam.

This is obviously the new stock photo of the smartest coolest prettiest dog in the world, Ginger. Seriously she just poses. She's a lady.

Sarah going through the sheet music and other music books at Barnes & Noble, Athens, on our last evening of freedom out with our crüe.
It was a good break. But in the end, it's always good to come back to school.

This is the view from my dorm room. Isn't it petty?
These photo-centered entries are so goofy.
